Edju — Fri, 07/01/2011 - 09:57This is wonderful in nearly every way. Nice proof of concept that begs to be taken to the next steampunk level. I would love to see it done in copper pipe rather than pvc, and glass bottles or some other type of container. Really nice sound, and the mechanics are super cool. GREAT work!
Thank you, Edju. I agree with
lensolomon — Wed, 07/06/2011 - 14:35Thank you, Edju. I agree with you in every particular. The white PVC is rather garish, but I used it to prototype the machine because it was cheap, and because I LOVE cutting the pieces of pipe with my ratchet-loppers. If everyone could experience the joy of using those, it would be much more like a perfect world. I have long-term plans to rebuild the 'pompatron with copper, brass, and finished wood, and to organize it more rationally. In its present ricketty, clamped-to-workbench iteration, it can't be moved, for one thing.
what even is
Hyratel Wyvern — Sun, 06/19/2011 - 03:12OH MY GOD IT IS AWESOME AND HORRIBLE AND AND AND
(it really is an amazing positive-pressure organ, but.... the strength of face required to play it without cracking up humbles me)
