The Dieselpunk Tatra - Jay Leno's Garage

Jake von Slatt — Wed, 07/23/2008 - 10:59

When it comes to late night comedy I'm more Letterman than Leno. But when it comes to things mechanical Jay Leno is a total mench and exemplifies true Steampunk spirit.

Here he is talking about a Czech Tatra, a streamlined, rear-engined, air-cooled V-8 powered car from 1938 which would look completely at home in any Dieselpunk feature film!

if anybody was interested in

Szentivanyi — Thu, 07/24/2008 - 02:11

if anybody was interested in obtaining his/her own Tatra T87, their manufacturer organizes a competition for the most popular model of their history; the most popular three will be then reproduced in small series... the competition is in Czech, but I guess one can recognize how the choice can be done... T87 has a serious chance :)

Stunning

Simply stunning! What an amazing feat of engineering, I want one. But then, I've often found myself somewhat envious of Jay's garage.
